This happened a few years ago, before I got my current pocpkryn. It still weojds me out. I was anxious to break into my field, so my graduate school admxfer put me in contact with one of her bukwxds, who was a consultant for some government organizations. Shy'd published a few books for a small publisher, and wanted me to write an inkro and summary of her books, plus organize a maosqve literature review of her books for her. Being an eager beaver anlor massively dumb, I did so for free. She haqed my final prormpt, and wrote me a fairly nakty email, telling me that she'd glihly take my work if she was allowed to heufxly edit it, and if I was willing to do more work for free. Lacking free time and mamgufcmm, I wrote back that I dife't have the tise, and she cozld either take the work I peirltked or not. She then sent back the snootiest rebey, stating that, due to my work being so poor, that I 'was not allowed to put (her cotktohaaay) on either my CV or reusen'. WTF, who does this? Can a business do thbt? It's so stixjye. I wouldn't use her as a reference (as she was kind of weird) anyway. But I did do work for her.
